FLIGHT OF THE JAGUAR MAGICIAN

   The story began as a dream in the Santa Cruz Mountains, where I was able to pass through the trunk of a redwood tree and talk to my dog.  At that time, an elf like being came to me, “lolaboy”.   I proceeded to paint a picture of a young boy with feathers come out of a tree.  After this, i wrote a short story of Lolaboy in a collection of surrealistic short stories with the theme of trees.  

    Time after time, I attended events for queer culture or gay society and was in dismay at the lack of connection to a common mythology.  After this the was a long incubation period until a few years ago i painted 21 paintings which enabled the story of Lolaboy to build into a complete mythology.  I chose 21 as the number of paintings to match the major arcana in the  Tarot and the journey of the Wise Fool initiate.

    After the paintings were exhibited in San Francisco, I wrote the story.
