Huilo has studied dance for more than 20 years, learning from such diverse teachers as Ana Halprin, Tandy Beale (Pickle Family Circus), Zuza Engler (Soul Motion), La Fibi (flamenco) and others.  The heshe has participated in many workshops in expressive art therapy and improvisation at the School of Imaginal Studies, New College of California and more.  Huilo participated in several writing programs, including, UC Davis, University of Iowa, Stanford University and UC Santa Cruz.  Sculpting and painting for more than 15 years, heshe’s works are innovative and traditional, encompassing a quality of magical sacred art and lending themselves to a phantasmagoric experience for the viewers.  Heshe has been artist in residence in Italy, Spain, Mexico and New Mexico, USA.

In 1995, the first puppet theatre was playfully imagined in San Francisco with friends.  Since then large and small paper mache, found object, and latex mask puppets have been seen around the world, in parades, procession, festivals, theatres and alternative artist warehouses. From Burningman to Radical Faerie, from Fringe Festivals to Wise Fool puppet stages, Huilo’s wild puppets have enchanted thousands of viewers around the globe.  Heshe began to utilize performance art while doing a piece on the Death of the Male Ego, at Ruby’s Gallery in San Francisco.  Huilo’s work has been seen throughout The Americas and Europe.

Heshe’s dream is to produce the full story of, The Flight of the Jaguar Magician, a two-spirit mythological initiation.   Moving away from commercial gallery art, Huilo enjoys utilizing multi-media artscapes to capture the viewer’s wildest imagination and encourage them to activate their sensibility about co-creating the dream of the world.   The author refers to herself as an “art doctor”, developing tools to guide consciousness into the possibility of DNA activation and unified polarities of thought, multiple dimensional realities—while having fun and being impeccably honest about the dire situation of humanity.
